The High Tea Story
Founded in 2003 by mother-daughter team Carol and Belinda Bigold, High Tea Bakery has become an institution in Winnipeg. Taking inspiration from the rich heritage of the English tearoom, the bakery is a labour of love for the Bigolds. Carol, an accomplished watercolour artist and mother of 5, was taught to bake by her own mother while growing up in Australia. Her delicious and beautiful cookies were loved by friends and family, but she needed a push to get them on the market. Eldest daughter Belinda, who also had a background in the arts, held the vision and drive to make High Tea Bakery the award-winning business that it is today.
