Truth & Reconciliation Collection (Sep23-27)

Price range: $24.00 through $48.00

Available for Pickups Sept 23rd to 27th

National Day for Truth & Reconciliation (Orange Shirt Day) is such an important day to remember and honour the children, family & communities affected by the Residential School Program. As part of our ongoing mission to support the community that supports us, we will once again be donating 25% from the sale of these cookies to support Every Child Matters Endowed Scholarships through the Southern Chiefs’ Organization.

This year we are very proud to be partnering with Nehiyaw Iskwēw artist, Audrey Armstrong, who has graciously allowed us to use her painting “Abundance” as the back drop for this year’s designs. Audrey has spent her career working in the mental health field in Saskatoon, volunteers and paints in her spare time, and spends time going to ceremony to stay connected to her cultural & spiritual roots.

We are closed on Tuesday, September 30th, so these cookies will be available for pickup the week prior. Pre-orders available in sets of 6 or 12.

Audrey Armstrong: Artist Statement

The Abundance original painting was painted for Saskatoon Victim Services and currently hangs in the Saskatoon Police Service. It was made to bring calm and peace for victims of crime attending the victim services offices, and also for the staff to hopefully feel the calm on rough days as well. It is a reminder that there is healing in growth, and healing and growth is encouraged in ‘abundance.’
I was a victim services volunteer and spent many hours in that office, often attending court with victims of crime. It’s tiring and stressful, and sometimes something as simple as a picture can help ground.
